The Repair Cafe Sydney North, located at the Uniting Church Hall on the corner of Pacific Highway and Mowbray Road (across the road from the Great Northern Hotel) is open the first two Sundays of the month between 1pm and 3pm.
Set up by a group of skilled Lower North Shore residents, our motto is “Toss it? No way!!” We want to fix it!
It’s about breaking the cycle of buy, use, toss it out. Various items such as jewellery, ceramics, shoes, toys, clothes, zips, bags, small woodwork repairs, and household battery-operated items can be repaired. Even if you don’t have something to repair, you can watch and learn or enjoy a fair trade coffee with organic milk and teas, and a range of special home-made cakes.
All free. Donations are welcomed and appreciated.
The donations collected is used to cover the ongoing cost of materials needed for repairs plus any ingredients used for food and drinks. The surplus is put away as a saving for the potential cost that will be incurred as we prepare to relocate from the current site sometime later in 2017. We are an affiliate of the Permapatch Community Garden. We are hoping to use some of the surplus to assist Permapatch as it is also having to relocate to a new site.
